New Android Version

We finally saw a bit of magic happen.

A new version of Arnacon for Android is now live on Google Play.

So what’s the magic?

For the first time, Arnacon lets you create a temporary user - a real identity, but only for a while. You can use it to call or message other Arnacon users, and when you’re done, it’s gone.

Why does that matter?

Because there are so many moments where you need to talk to someone, but you really don’t want to hand over your phone number. A one-time conversation. A short interaction. A boundary you want to keep.

This lets you communicate while fully preserving your privacy.

What makes this even more special is how it works. Calls and messages are established without passing through our servers. There’s no Arnacon backend sitting in the middle, no logs, no insight into what you’re doing. Just a blockchain network we don’t control and a few Google STUN servers. That’s it.

Which means something important: we genuinely don’t know how you use the app or who you talk to. Total privacy, by design.

Of course, it’s still early. There are bugs - just like in every big app - and we’ll be dealing with them over the coming month. We’re also planning to open up the UI layer, so others can build interfaces that are better than what we came up with ourselves.

If this resonates with you, you’re very welcome to try it.
